New Year Resolutions

I hardly ever make resolutions and I rarely write them down, but this year has a lot of moving parts and I am committed to making them all work together. Unsurprisingly, one of my new year's resolutions is to blog with more regularity. Just "more" would be an extremely easy resolution to make, its the regularity that makes this a challenge. Currently I am hoping for 2-3 days a week. I am thrilled to be a part of My Kate Parker Weddings (http://www.mykateparkerwedding.com/) and this new resource offers another way for me to display my blog and gain more readership. Check out the new snazzy MyKPW badge on the website and sign up for your own account.

Some of my other resolutions involve Esq.Events specifically and my goals for the company as it continues to grow. Others involve my legal career, while many focus on personal goals such as the application of organizational skills in my home life, creating a good work/life balance, cooking skills (this weekend I may have mastered by crock pot) and photography skills (will I be able to actually take pictures with my new 30D, stay tuned?).

My other big resolution is to actually organize my (our) photographs in a meaningful way this year. Every year I talk about my plans for photo dominance. My parents had albums and albums organized by time and event, each photo carefully labeled with names, dates and places. My mother still does this even in the age of digital photography: making prints and placing them into albums. I successfully made digital albums (through http://mypublisher.com/) for our Wedding in 2008 and also our Rehearsal Dinner (we had a professional photog at the Rehearsal but that's another blog post). My mother and mother-in-law were also promised albums of the Wedding Events (Engagement/Showers/Bachelorette Party etc) and also an album of the Guest Photos that we had collected. These albums do not exist but I am determined to have them completed prior to July. I just completed a fabulous book with Good Stock (http://www.good-stock.com/) for Matt's Anniversary Gift that was a modern scrapbook of our European Honeymoon (again, another blog post waiting to happen). I wish that Good Stock could help me with all my photo book needs but I will have to save it for special occasions. In order to stay on top of things for Cox Family Photos in 2010, I am committed to a continuous design process (maybe using Blurb or perhaps MyCanvas) each month. This will require the participation of Matthew, as the official Cox Family Photographer, but so far he is on board.

As a couple, Matt and I have a resolution to make our own Meloncello. We are planning on doing some further research this month in Rome and also do a test run with cantaloupe before investing in Tuscan Melons. Our homemade Lemoncello was a great success so we have high hopes for the Melon flavors.

Stay tuned, maybe I will blog the recipes for your drinking pleasure :-)
Hope to see you all "regularly"!
